Art Thieves

Art Thieves is a stylish action comedy about three misfit master criminals, who infiltrate the haunts of the super rich in order to steal their masterpieces.

Gideon Hoff, Eleanor Barnes, and Vic Dwyer are a team of high level art thieves who are adrift, disbanded, and despondent, having broken up long ago over a heist gone wrong. Until a shifty billionaire, Calvert Glenn, recruits the team to carry out a series of near-impossible heists which they insist will be their last..

Tonally, it draws its inspiration from 90s indie cinema — movies like The Big Lebowski, The Royal Tenenbaums and Pulp Fiction inspired this fully immersive, stylized world. It’s The Thomas Crowne Affair for the streaming generation.

The tone is acerbic and playful... but not parody; this is not “Austin Powers.” This is deadpan comedy — unusual situations played straight. Spearing the sheltered world of the global elite, behind this stylized veneer there lives a contemporary story with a strong emotional center, a modern love story about flawed people learning to place their trust in one another.
