A high-octane global comedic drama by Paul Keables

“There is no such thing as Objective Journalism. The phrase itself is a pompous contradiction in terms.” – Hunter S. Thompson

Part dark comedy and part neon-drenched noir, GONZO is a fast-paced, character-driven series that takes a timely, unexpected, and irreverent look at one man’s quest for truth in a world where nothing – and no one – is as it seems…

Inspired by the absurd life and writings of the godfather of gonzo journalism, our series follows an unconventional reporter with questionable ethics as he attempts to start over halfway across the globe. But as news travels and old habits die hard, he’ll find himself at the center of the story once again as he gets caught up in the exotic, fun, sexy, dangerous, and all-around batshit crazy underground of present-day Bangkok.

GONZO is an hourlong, serialized drama – a global conspiracy thriller with elements of humor as well as heart. This intricate game of cat-and-mouse is an entertaining blend of action and intrigue that ratchets up the tension from episode to episode. Tonal comps include The Diplomat, Breaking Bad, and The Boys.

Sardonic one moment and sincere the next, this series is all about contrasts. A fish-out-of-water in a place that’s also on the brink. A flawed “anti-hero” who wants to be a good dad. A look at just how far a smart and complex reporter will go to run away from himself, and somehow find purpose along the way. Exploring themes of redemption, culture, "fake news" and family – and turning them all on their head – this is Fear and Loathing in the Far East.
